Don't Try, Just Do!

Knock, knock. It’s the first day of the year. First day of the decade! It’s very me of me to start something as big as launching a business at the beginning of the year, but here we are. More importantly, here we are making an effort.

Effort is the name of the game at The Studio Parra this month my lovelies. And really, for the rest of the year and my life. There are so many things I’ve not done that have been burning several holes in my mind. I’ve gained nothing from keeping things in except an increased number of ants in my pants. I’d rather not carry those into the new house I’m building in 2020.

I’m excited to start this journey in earnest! This journey that I finally feel ready to put honest and authentic effort into (is that good grammar?). As I mentioned earlier, effort is the de facto theme this month for two reasons. The first being that it’s the beginning of the year and the second is that a lot of promises tend to be made. So much so that we end up feeling overwhelmed by the weight of all the progress we’d like to make. Hence a reduction of all things “resolution” to the simple idea of effort. Want to start making your bed, go ahead. Want to improve your health, sign up at your local gym if that’s what gets you off your ass. I want all of those things as well, but my effort has, I feel, been weak on the come up. Following a handful of personal wellness and self-realization books I’ve read the past year, I’ve been much more inspired by the idea of “there is no trying, just doing”. I’m paraphrasing, but you get the picture.

I’d like to strike the word “try” from my vocabulary and just DO. This life is a challenge that I’m officially up for and I will do the damn thing! Starting here and now. I truly don’t know what this journey will look like. Things here at The Studio Parra are most definitely going to go through some growing pains. However, by putting in the effort for me, I hope to inspire you to do for you. If you’re down for the ride, come along! Welcome to the party <3
